Aw Crud! You’ve reached the somewhat secret
UHF YAOI SHRINE

2025 Update: I made this shrine in the summer of 2023 and I'm not really into this ship anymore, and I think I kind of overblew their relationship in the movie. I made a LOT of fanart for George/Bob even though they have only 9 minutes in the movie together, so this was totally more fanon then anything else. And even though George/Bob isn't my thing anymore, I still support you Borgers who happen upon this shrine. If your heart tells you to, make George and Bob kiss.

When I first watched the movie I didn’t really think much of George and Bob aside from their likability and great fashion sense. But after diving a little deeper into the UHF Tumblr fandom I started seeing shipping posts with the characters (Tumblr users have a long history of shipping the male leads from media) which broadened my horizons and made me realize that these two WOULD make a nice item. After spending my previous summer tearing through Joike (Joel/Mike from MST3K) fanfic, I was excited to spend the summer of 2023 dedicating myself to a new ship (aka another questionable symbol of hope for Rye).

I personally loved Borge not just because of the ship, but also because of the 5-person fandom (at the time of writing) where we all made fanart and playlists and fanfics. I enjoyed being a part of this tiny community and it felt reminiscent of a livejournal slash community in the 2000s.

Anyway here's my fanart
